Hello! My name is Courtney (they/them). I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and two Master’s degrees in Social Work and Childhood Studies. I believe that sustainable change requires active participation of internal resources and community members. Therefore; I have dedicated my professional career to working with and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. For LGBTQ+ youth, in particular, recognizing their strengths and resiliency through therapeutic support is invaluable. Working in these environments provides a representation that their lives have longevity, and can be as full and vibrant as they want them to be.
In my spare time, I love playing with my two dogs, Rory and River, (any Doctor Who fans out there?), being an active member in the film community (attending film festivals, writing reviews, or being a crew member in films) and learning - I love exploring various topics and researching them.
My specialties include writing about LGBTQ+ youth, their rights, mental health, resiliency, and the best practices for working with youth.
